For immediate release Zoom on over to Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens’ Classic Car Show and More!June 8, 2009 - Jacksonville, Fl - On Saturday, June 20, the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens will host its third annual ZOOM at the Zoo, classic car show, sponsored by Pepsi. Classic cars from all over Florida’s First Coast will be showing off their shine from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Zoo’s main parking lot. Guests can vote for their favorite cars and register to win special prizes. There will be a visit from Jazoo, the Zoo’s friendly mascot and a DJ will be on hand with rockin’ music. Inside the Zoo kids can enjoy the giant slide and bounce house, cool off in the Play Park Splash Ground and get up close and personal with some of their favorite animals. “Saturday’s classic car show is just the beginning of a great weekend for families to celebrate” said Gina Stiles, Marketing and Membership Manager for the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. “After the muscle car show on Saturday, dads can show their muscle by spending the night at the Zoo with their kids at the Father’s Day Safari Sleepover! For over 90 years, the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens has been dedicated to inspiring the discovery and appreciation of wildlife through innovative experience in a caring environment. Starting in 1914 with an animal collection that consisted of one red deer fawn, the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens has grown to house more than 1,400 rare and exotic animals and over 1,000 unique plant species. The Jacksonville Zoo is a non-profit organization and is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). It is open year-round, seven days a week, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and is located on Jacksonville’s north side at 370 Zoo Parkway, one-half mile east from I-95.
