The Jacksonville Zoo and Garden's Travel Program offers exciting opportunities to explore exotic destinations, observe wild creatures in their natural realms, and experience local cultures. Guided by local wildlife experts and experienced Zoo staff, our travelers are immersed in wilderness landscapes and given a unique opportunity to see some of the Zoo's conservation efforts first hand.
New Adventures in 2019:
The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens’ Travel Program is offering new adventures in 2019. Join Zoo hosts as they journey to Tanzania and the Galapagos Islands. Each journey is guided by local wildlife experts and experienced Zoo staff, as travelers are immersed in wilderness landscapes and given a unique opportunity to see wildlife in natural habitats.
Tanzania – Treasures of the Land of Kilimanjaro, May 5 – 14, 2019

Discover the charm of Africa as you pass red-robed Maasai gazing into the plains and descend 2,000 feet by Land Rover beneath the cloud cover into the Ngorongoro Crater. Marvel at sights and sounds of the African bush, surrounded by wildlife and untamed beauty of Lake Manyara and the Serengeti.
Ecuador & The Galapagos Island – Natural Selection in the Enchanted Isles, July 14 – 22, 2019

Experience close encounters with charismatic animals found nowhere else on Earth. Hike the land alongside iconic Galapagos creatures, including giant tortoises, sea lions, marine iguanas, and Blue-footed boobies.

South Africa, Botswana and Zambia, African Safari - June 2018
During the Zoo’s 2018 Travel Program, Zoo donors and members enjoyed 15 days on an African photo safari. The trip included visits to South Africa, Botswana and Zambia with amazing wildlife along the way.
